dunsland cross windfarm
Welcome to the community consultation website for Dunsland Cross Windfarm
We are planning a small windfarm consisting of three turbines at Dunsland Cross, next to the junction of the A3079 and A3072, about 6km from Holsworthy, Devon. If constructed the windfarm could generate enough energy from renewable sources to power the equivalent of 3,640 homes*.
The windfarm would help the UK reach its renewable energy targets. It would also provide an alternative source of power, at a time when fossil fuels are becoming scarcer and the need to combat climate change is becoming even more urgent.

* Based on a windfarm of 7.5MW and assuming a capacity factor of 26.4% (the UK average taken from table 7.4 in the Digest of UK Energy Statistics, DUKES, 2011). Please see Environmental Statement, Chapter 1 for full information.
